Upvc Multipoint Door Locks Are Not A Universal Fit

At Locksmith St Helens we are dealing with upvc multipoint door locks for the majority of our time and this makes sense when over 70 per cent of all doors now in the UK are of a upvc type.

Unfortunately they are not a universal fit and there are multiples of manufacturers making different models and different sizes of these locks. The one pictured above was one that had failed and the full lock is now obsolete, however the centre case or gearbox which is usually the part that fails could be replaced.

This particular make which was Mila had 3 different sizes to choose from which we call the backset and this one was a 25mm one which which is a very small and unusual size.

The lock was the original one in the door from when the property was new so over 20 years old and after being replaced was working again nicely.
